Frequently Asked Questions
What should my child wear or bring to class?
Gymnasts should wear comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows for safe movement (leotards, athletic shorts or leggings, and fitted t-shirts are all great).
Please note:
-
No socks or shoes on the gym floor
-
No jewellery (including earrings)
-
Long hair must be tied back securely
This helps keep everyone safe and focused during class.
Do you offer drop-in classes?
Yes! We currently offer Friday night drop-in classes at 7:00 PM (Winter 2026).
-
Drop-ins are for ages 8+
-
Cost: $10 per class
-
Parents must register through their online account
Insurance requirement:
If your child is not already registered in a class this school year, they will need insurance:
-
Yearly insurance: $55
-
Casual insurance: $18
Casual insurance is time-limited (typically valid for a short period, depending on Gymnastics BC policy). If you’re unsure which option you need, please reach out and we’re happy to help clarify.
Can my child do a make-up class?
We understand that occasional absences happen. If there is space available in another class, we may be able to accommodate a make-up class. However, make-ups are not guaranteed and depend on availability and staffing.
To keep our programs running smoothly, we ask families not to rely on make-up classes as part of regular attendance.
Is it worth putting my child on the wait-list?
Yes! Spots often open up as schedules change. If a wait-list grows long enough, we will also try to create an additional class whenever possible. Being on the wait-list gives your child the best chance of securing a spot.
What is the insurance fee for?
The insurance fee is required through Gymnastics BC and helps cover:
-
Participant accident insurance
-
Liability insurance
-
Safe sport and risk management programs
This insurance allows your child to participate safely in sanctioned gymnastics activities and is mandatory for all registered gymnasts.
Do you offer trial classes?
Yes, trial classes may be available if there is space in the class. Trial classes are a great way to see if a program is the right fit before committing. Please contact us to check availability.
What if I don’t know my child’s level?
That’s very common! In most cases, children start in the lowest class for their age group:
-
Tot Romp: Ages 2–3
-
Parent Tumble Time: A great option if you’d like a bit more structure with parent participation
-
Bronze Bouncer: Ages 5+
-
Bronze+: Ages 9+
If you feel your child may be ready for a higher level, you’re welcome to email us to discuss, or you can book an assessment for proper placement.
Should I let the gym know about an absence?
If your child will miss a single class, there’s no need to notify us.
If they will be absent for more than one class, please let us know so we aren’t wondering if something is wrong and can plan accordingly.
What happens if I am late picking up my child?
Please make every effort to arrive on time for pick-up. Late pick-ups can be stressful for both children and staff.
If you are late:
-
We will wait with your child for a short period
-
If needed, we will contact you
Repeated late pick-ups may result in a reminder of our policies or additional measures. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping everyone safe and supported.
My child will be away—will you prorate my fees?
We do not offer prorated fees for planned absences such as vacations or personal commitments.
Prorated fees may be considered only with a doctor’s note for medical absences. Thank you for your understanding, as consistent fees allow us to maintain staffing and program quality.
What is your refund policy?
-
Recreational programs: If the first week does not work for any reason, we are happy to issue a refund.
-
Competitive programs: A one-month notice is required for withdrawal.
-
Insurance fees are non-refundable after the first week.
Is financial assistance or subsidy available?
Yes! We accept the following funding programs:
-
KidSport
-
Jumpstart
-
Homeschool program funding
-
Autism funding
If you are using another form of funding or are unsure if it applies, please contact us and we’ll do our best to help.

Do you offer family or multi-class discounts?
Yes!
Multi-class discount:
-
Families receive 20% off the second class and any additional classes for the same child in the same session.
-
The first (highest-priced) class is charged at full price.
Multi-family (sibling) discount:
-
Families with three or more children enrolled receive 10% off each child’s tuition.
Discounts are applied automatically where possible. If you believe a discount has been missed, please contact us and we’ll be happy to review your account. Discounts cannot be combined unless otherwise stated.
Can my child move up to a higher level during the session?
Level changes are typically made early in the session, when coaches are assessing skill level, readiness, and class fit. Any moves are made at the coach’s discretion and are also dependent on space availability in the higher-level class.
If your child feels they are not being challenged enough, we encourage them (or you) to let the coach know. This allows us to reassess and ensure your child is in the best possible placement.
Please note that mid-session moves are not always possible, but we are always happy to have a conversation and explore options.
